@chroma_ghost Sometimes, I don’t know… :stuck_out_tongue: but your render is awesome sauce of the apple variety. Has the graphic novel feel. Good ghost.

it makes me happy that you find it saucy, brother :beers: :bread: :fried_egg: we can procced to fare la scarpetta visiva

Some aggressive sharpening tamed by contrast thresholds… a great set of features in RawTherapee 5.4-dev.

Gold stuff. I am quite busy with other things but I love what you’ve made. Reminds me of a floating, glass object.

@s7habo A very gnarly apple tree!

My take.

1. PhotoFlow → HL mode (blend) → lens correction (all) → linear Rec2020 (no clipping) → 32f
2. gmic → contrast (local) → curves (contrast + brightness) → resize → sharpen → frame → desaturate

Please zoom to 100%. Enjoy!

I simply had to take a moment and play! It’s a lovely image.

Straight out of RawTherapee:

Fiddling in GIMP quickly (wish I had more free time these days…):

My alt take.

1+2. Same as before.
3. gmic → contrast (guided) → darken shadows → add chroma → resize → sharpen → frame ⇒ Inkscape → draw face ⇒ gimc → blend face

Please zoom to 100%. Enjoy!

Edit:

Toggle to see it without the face.

Yesterday I’ve just found out the Color Grading in the Colors section of G’mic. I rarely use Colors in Gimp’s G’MIC, it was a nice surprise to find Color Grading …The word ‘color grading’ & ‘Wes Anderson style’ was coming to my senses about three weeks ago.

Here’s my first attempt on color grading, to gain neutral color and warm.

DSC9410.NEF to Rawtherapee >> Output in jpg to Gimp 2.8.22 (Curves, Contrast Overlay & Tonemapping, saturation), photo above >> back to Gimp, Color Grading, photo below

Suggestions always welcomed and appreciated.

Worked in RawTherapee - BW conversion with Yellow filter + vignette at 40percent + microcontrast sharpen + 2nd Curve Parametric Cage to taste. Open jpg in Gimp and Sample Colorize a tone set I sampled from an alternative chemical photographic process.

Thank you.

When I saw the image I thought of classic old fashioned black and white.

My try, darktable:
