Yes, Spectral Tone is a tone mapper, but it has been replaced by 3DCF for reasons I explain here. I left it in the available modules just for backward compatibility.
This module still contains a bug that I explain here, a calculation error regarding the luminance peak of the SSTS curve. Even so, if you’re getting good results, I’d be interested in learning more about how you’re using it.
Since this module has become quite complex, I’ve added some automation features, see this post
