I know you wanted RawTherapee edits so please forgive my darktable edit using base curve fusion and shadow and highlights modules to recover the deep shadows.

Thanks for sharing.
My version using Rawtherapee and adjusting saturation local contrast and
tone equalizer. Important for me is to concentrate on the object and let sun reflexes saturate.
