Looking back through some shots and found this one of a Robin I quite like, but I think I missed the mark on the colour correction. and white balance. This was taken on a bright spring day, but under a tree canopy. Curious to see what you can do with it.
Thank you for sharing this - it’s a beautiful capture, but also a challenge.
It’s almost 21:00 here, I have a variety of electrical lights on, and even disabling night colours on my monitor, I cannot trust my eyes. However I have had some success profiling in daylight my D7200, and I took a gamble that your D7000 would be similar for this capture.
Nice capture. Noise was hard work. A slower shutter speed would lower the ISO and make noise less of an issue in my view. But still a nice shot. I used the contrast equalizer module to try and sharpen and reduce noise as well as two instances of denoise (profiled). Processed in DT 5.3. DSC_9640.NEF.xmp (22.8 KB)
Nice work @Popanz You’ve managed there what I couldn’t and got some good, soft white in the blossom without blowing the highlights on the branches.
@sillyxone That’s impressive. On a par with DxO, at least at first glance. I’ll have to take a look at that.
@Terry - You’re right. I do tend to shoot standing subjects at ~1/320 or 1/500, but this guy had been hopping about a lot and I was still in 1/2500. I like my D7000, but it doesn’t do too well in these conditions.
