I captured this one on a coastal walk last year. I’m trying to get a monochrome treatment and after a number of attempts this is the best I can do. I’m still not entirely happy with it but I can’t put my finger on why. Would love to see some alternatives…
Following in the B/W lane, I’ve taken the sky down somewhat and lowered the general contrast to make the tree (texture) imm better stand out in the image. (That bright sky in the OP catches too much of my attention).
I’ve also cleaned up a little on light stones in the foreground that may otherwise also draw some attention.
@elstoc I love the picture pre-BW! I got some “dramatic” vibe in the BW version, and tried to roll with it.
I tried to preserve the luminescence of your bright sky, as I felt its’ contrast with the shadows is awesome. (while tried to emphasize the shadows). + slightly rotated the image
edit: NO! Rotation doesn’t do good to the image, it’s cropping some areas.
