As noted on the camera support page, they are not currently supported.
Rule of thumb: basically no recent phone camera DNGs are supported by dt.
I don’t think either RT or dt supports DNG 1.7 (which includes fancy things like JPEG XL lossless compression).
My Pixel Camera DNGs and iPhone DNGs don’t open in dt either.
Which Pixel??
These will likely just be the embedded jpg so your DNG will still need a good bit of work its not going to look like the hightly processed jpg that smartphones generate…
6a. I get a “forward matrix in” error and colors are screwed up.
Not related to DNG 1.7 then. I thought we addressed this for older Pixels…
I have a pixel 8 and they open fine for me…
Same here. Different camera apps have less screwy color. But they used to be good, until Google patched them broken. And also patched out the option to change your default camera app.
I’ll have to check if the files can be converted to a different version of DNG and if that changes things.
Today, I’ve had a breakthrough with my Pixel 6a raws: I figured out that the colors are screwed up, because the white balance coefficients are broken. If you disable color calibration, the image becomes deeply tinted. Fix that in white balance, then color calibration can actually do its job, and colors become sane again.
Sadly, there does not seem to be any rhyme or reason for the white balance coefficients. They seem to change between photos, so you have to fix them anew for every frame.
