I just compiled the sources from git. Good work, thank you so much. On Linux/Fedora the installation was just a click.
I didn’t go through the entire thread with 762 posts but one question I have is: what is exactly the difference between spektrafilm and use of cubes or png in module LUT 3D? Different colour space?
Spektrafilm does a physical simulation including spatial effects like grain, halation, coupler-effects etc. A LUT only gives you colour transformation. One click and you enter a different world. It would take me hours and still not be close based on my skills and now I can take have full flexibility of dt and the joy of spektrafilm.

Maybe preflash can be a little more granular if not gentler.
It works pretty well regardless.
It is not placebo. The spektrafilm python app is literally 2x faster on Cachy vs Winslop.
Winslop is just trash. I am going to trash talk microslop 10x from now on.
I just need to think about Display calibration etc…I don’t have a calibration device yet but I did have profiles from my windows…not that it matters now. From quick exports I do see some difference on other displays…well nothing spektrafilm or dt related I guess so I will just be happy with my new life ![]()
One perhaps stupid question about spektrafilm, anyone know how to get that last bit of luminosity?

Use pre compression boost or post compression scale in the last tab.
Adjacent to that: I find myself working the black point with tonecurve often. I wonder whether we could have a black point slider similar to AgX lift… It’d nicely compliment the post compression scale.

I have no idea what this module is doing. I just select some random preset, click the UI in some random places next to labels that mean nothing to me (are these even actual English words? You must be kidding me) and chances are that something beautiful will come out of it. Love it ![]()

Congratulations on the merge. Waiting for another issue relevant to my workflow to get merged and then I’ll check it out in the nightly build.
Been playing around with monochrome and the photos come out quite nice with the Tri-X. That said the printed-monochrome looks kind of complex to me with all the development times and whatnot. Getting a low contrast monochrome is not the type of photos I usually go for so Tri-X works fine for me. Looks really nice out of the box.
Or simply place a levels module instance over spektrafilm and adjust to taste.
Thanks to @piratenpanda the new spektrafilm module now has some nice docs for spektrafilm.
@Cristian @bazdesh @Roberto_Abella I think you among others have a fairly good understanding of the module. If you like: Do you find anything missing from the docs?

Is the bandwidth adaptation option optimised for every stock ? Or there are some stocks that lacks it ?
All color film profiles should have it - you can check that yourself, its in the respective .json profiles.
I like the “accidental” color casts resulted when one’s use the negative monochrome with a color print stock !
You can play with the cast/tint via the print filters to taste.

I’m not at your level, but perhaps this reference for spektrafilm OFX would be useful. It’s a plugin for DaVinci Resolve, based on the same spektrafilm code being adopted for dt.
