The night sky one have a “close encounters of the third type” vibe that could be optimised with a bolder edit  I think. Nice collection !

I agree. I found it pretty incredible what modern software can do to this kind of high ISO images.

I was having internal battle how bold I want to edit that night sky one  Decided to go this very dark version this time and some other day it would be something different. This low resolution version misses some small details from the sky, water and dot of light (boat lights in the distance) right centre of the view. Those were the main reasons for this edit.

So is there a reflection of the photographer in the coffee cup (9 Oct image)?

Double “Wow!” for the tree in the dark.

Maybe some slight reflection. I just liked that texture what few days old coffee looked like in my cup. Didn’t try what it would taste, if put some hot water there.

I liked also that one! That colour palette from artificial lighting caused in that image.

Yesterday and today went to photograph Tsuchinshan-ATLAS but there was too much clouds and could not see it at all.

Tsuchinshan–ATLAS should have been there behind the old radio towers. No luck this time :frowning:

Still too much clouds to get good image of the comet.

Wow that spider is extremely creepy looking.

Yes it does! High magnification brings those creepy details close. It still wanders around my remote office.

Halloween is close. This is from Heinola Bird Sanctuary.

Women & Children (2022) from Nina Beier.

Wow - love the Nina Beier sculpture. Did some research on her works. Can you say why you framed it the way that you did?

Main reason for this framing is that, it was midday and light was bad in almost every other angle. To get this framing I had to keep camera over my head because of the base of the sculpture. And I used also shift from the lens, to get statues straight. I should have also taken few steps backwards because with 50mm lens, this is bit too tight to my liking.

Fun “artificial ?” tilt-shift ! I wonder if there’s IA algo that could assist in creating those and spare us the hassle of multiple masking to fine tune the focus blur repartition…

This is real tilt image. Had to crop it somewhat so not best example of that effect. I don’t quite get why this type of images are so popular with tilt&shift lenses, but once again I had to try it and still don’t get it

Ok, I’m surprised I did not manage to get it was a real one, some DoF effect seem off to me even though it’s a real tilt shift image ^^

This miniature effect I guess ? Best shown when taken from higher ground :
I took this one 10 Y ago, and this is a genuinely fake one  no tilt shift equipment what soever involved, just gimp with a basic dbl gradient mask on a focus blurred version.

I always though that if I had taken the time to properly adjust the mask to take in account the real 3D of the scene It could be better, but then again maybe not …

Ah, I cropped that image bit, so that miniature effect is little wrong because of that. Sorry for confusion

I’ve been a bit tired lately. This dark time of year really eats my energy, so I’ve been avoiding spending time on the computer after work. Anyway, I’ve been taking stills every day, so the project is still going strong.

Particularly like 15.11 - a very large wooden? staircase - what sort of facility is it part of?

Those are staircase in local park. People use them for exercise. Park has some big statues made from concrete.

Today went for a walk in dark forest. Someone with his dog interrupted my walk in the dark with high power head lamp.
