But it will come back on the descent!
A few from a recent trip along the coast of Klöntalersee. We’d been there before, but then the walking path was closed due to high water levels, and we were forced to walk on the paved road on the northern coast. This time, we were able to go on the southern one.
The view from the bus stop, where we started our walk:

What I cannot properly depict is how steep those cliffs were – they just shot up around the lake, you had to strain your neck to keep looking at them. Perhaps this map gives an idea (heights are in metres):
If you let go of the brakes over the top you’re doing 40 into a vicious set of hairpins - white knuckles, squeaky bottoms
This is an impressive image! Very well done!
That’s quite the lunch spot

Not working today, last day of 5 in a row off work after only a handful off since 8 July.
Went for a walk through a newly regenerated wetland (industrial/wastewater usage previously). Some rapid initial edits:
Lucky one!
Kingfishers are not uncommon in our region, but they hide in the bushes. Sometimes I see one flying above the river, but I’m too slow to get an image of it. But I don’t give up.
I am new to the site and while not completely new images they are shot within the last month or so. In My adventures I started to notice these “trolls” and now I have fun collecting them when I can…
Hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
Today I took my bycicle… The traffic was too much for the old Bridge, it’s now dismanteld piece by piece, while ships are passing. Car traffic is now on the new bridge in the background. A second bridge will be build at the place of the old one, takes another three years.
The “mountain” in the background, behind the ship, was / is the garbage dump of Bayer Company, the Aspirin-makers. Since 20 years or so they are not allowed to use the dump any longer. Because of that and many other measures the water of the Rhine now is clean, you can even drink it (I did, when I was rowing on the Rhine and forgot the bottle with water…)
