Today was a day of double joy. Or maybe triple. First of all, it was sunny. Because of that, I took my first long-exposure photos (second). And third, a little something arrived that prints photos on paper (Canon Selphy). It’s a real marvel!
Fun fact: 45-second exposure didn’t remove the moving objects as much as I’d hoped ![]()
It seems to have been a stop-and-go traffic, which, in my opinion, gave it a lot more character and story than a complete blur ever would
You’re right. My goal is to create completely empty city spaces, though. I need to go there on a Sunday morning when the traffic at that intersection is much lighter. The problem is that on a Sunday morning, the light will be coming from the wrong direction ![]()
Been a pretty weak winter in my part of the world, and even more so where I’m working…but we did have a cold snap for two days and that was enough to freeze up a couple of the waterfalls I’ve been photographing for the last few months.
I’ve got more to work on but here’s a couple from the first round of edits.
Edits done using dt 5.4, windows. AgX (I’m really enjoying playing with this quite a bit), contrast eq and d&s for most of the creative effects. Color RGB to subtract some of the blue tint with lowered chroma values, and my usual application of what was recently explained to me as “every slider syndrome”.
Multiple exposures, which are then combined, can help: you mask out the unwanted mobile objects, which should occupy different positions in different images. Tripod highly recommended, if not required. And a program to combine the different images (Hugin, GIMP, …).
Beautiful shot!
I really like both of these, but the second (abstract…ish) really stands out! Nice job
Seasonal trek down to the Arizona Worm Farm. I’ve been trying to kind of “start over” with how I develop these IR images and experimenting more with white balance / color calibration. All three of these are different lighting. The flower was under a shade. The chickens had some trees filtering the sunlight. The last one is obviously full sunlight.
I took some pictures at my friend’s wellness facility yesterday:
Those bricks in the back are made of salt.
Nope, never bored seeing tits.
Me neither
.
All joking aside (CANNOT get involved with that one
) , Thomas, that’s an outstanding image.
A few pics from last week out and about in Bristol UK with my samyang 14mm full frame.

I like how it tones with the board on the pavement - pure luck.

You make the desert sprawl look appealing ![]()
Just FYI try to limit uploads to ~1080px on one side. Not a super strict rule just meant to keep file uploads manageable.
