I decided to go out and reshoot some photos I shot yesterday, themed “back/sidelit”. Decided to bring the Tamron this time, which performs a fair bit better than the kit lens at 50mm, and also brought a tripod.
That resulted in a better result than the previous one, IMO. Some lovely textures in those leafs.
Of course it was still hot as balls, so I was sweating like a pig.
Also encountered a small toad (5-ish cm, tops):

I’ve been taking photos and video of family lately, but otherwise I’ve been in a rut. I see the same stuff over and over; nothing new to photograph. So I decided to try again. Here are some Palo Verde Trees.

Had the tiniest bit of thunderstorm after a few silly hot days. Good practice for long exposure shots — and learned I don’t need LE denoise in the camera, as long as I keep the ISO low and run astro denoise in DT. That saves me a ton of shooting time.

It was a week for wildlife I guess…I didn’t really go out and shoot much this past week,as I was at home for the majority of it. But the days I did go out, I got lucky. Spotted the bear while tracking the deer (after I’d spooked them), and the hummingbird was easily accessible at a local feeder. All photos edited using dt 5.6 windows, and I even tried the raw denoise feature…which I was quite happy with. It certainly beats my standard attempts, but at the expense of some detail loss. Perhaps I just need to tune it a bit more…I’ll keep experimenting with both the profiled denoise and the raw denoise until I get it right for my liking.
