Having breakfast this morning.
These parrots are not native to Cologne (or Europe). They first appeared in a neighboring residential area about 15 years ago, they probably escaped from a cage. They seem to be thriving and are now spreading here as well.

Sadly the vid is not available in Portugal. We have these in Lisbon too, they seem to be doing very well

This weeks captures (well, some of them). I ventured back to a creek I originally visited this previous November and got some new compositions, and I kept trying to get pictures of our resident one-legged bird back at home. Then the northern lights made an appearance after several hours of cloud cover. Thanks to darktable, and many hours of practice, I’m finally getting photos to look how I’d like them to in the post processing stage.

Wildfire out of control near where we’re staying for work. Mobile photo for now… Been here shooting for nearly an hour.
Pretty intense. Keeping an eye on the alerts as there’s a small chance we could be asked to leave the area.

Hope it goes out soon. In Portugal our fire season has started as well, 300km2 already burned so far
Even in Scotland, Arthur’s Seat has caught fire for the past few years. There was already one small wildfire there this year.

When I was there last year, me and my sister got a bit lost and went down the burned zone, it was really something else to behold. The path was closed on the base, but up there there weren’t any signs so it seemed liked the path was open…
