Morning mist from our balcony
Had wonderful light late this afternoon. This is the building that used to house one of ZĂźrichâs first fixed cinemas, the Radium.
Part of the building is from the 14th centuary (the part that was owned by the Brentschink family); the other is from the 16th, rebuilt in the 17th.
After the cinema ceased operating, during the renovation work, a stash of movie posters and other printed materials, mostly dated before 1920, was found.

On holiday in NZ, the weather has wet and dreary, but yesterday evening had improved somewhat. A cormorant (known as a shag in NZ) making a few splashes on the way to getting airborne over the Firth of Thames.
Same motive as before, slightly different location. This is a part of the Upper Middle Rhine Valley in Germany.
I canât see the paper bag.
Yeah, I know â I canât pass a sunset. Especially after the sun has actually set and it turns all dark and colorful at the same time. Maybe thatâs why so many of my photos are relatively dark? This is just a local lake with minimal compositional opportunities, but the colors were nice.
Maybe I should concentrate more on nicely-illuminated subjects that would fare better with my cameraâs OK-but-not-phenomenal noise performance⌠But itâs fun processing these images, what with all the minor little things that need to be done, which add up and hopefully the sum is greater than their parts. Things like masked tonal and color adjustments, warm / cool grading, selective sharpening, depth enhancement, cleanups, etc., etc.

Ah OK. Thanks.
Rally preparations in Yarra Glen, Victoria, last weekendâŚ
Overexposed, arguably not properly recovered but thatâs cos I quite like the sepia sky
Great
What a morning @123sg !
Today I drove an hour down to a Louisiana state park built around a lake containing many Water Tupelo and Bald Cypress trees. A draw down is in progress at the lake, which will continue through December. The purpose is to reduce giant salvinia and improve the fish habitat. I wanted to see how low the water was getting and recon for a possible early morning shoot later in the year. I really didnât plan on shooting today but there was a nice thin layer of cirrus clouds which softened the light quite a bit.
Never say never, I guess. But it was still humid and warm enough to be sweat-inducing while in the still, wet air under the treesâŚ

With the water down, these cypress trees look like Clydesdale legs.

Really like that first one especially!
First one is my favourite, good stuff Particularly how the trees now look âexposedâ, elevates it quite a bit.
