“WoT are you talking about”, said I.
@epeeist wrote “We tried Lake Louise (we have a daughter with that name, no “Louise”, not “Lake”) and thought it would be nice for her to have a picture.
…
So, instead we went to Moraine Lake.”
Hence my early-morning-on-minimal-coffee attempt at humor…
WoT: Wheel of Time, a book (and now streaming) series.
Moraine: an Aes Sedai, an important (female) character in the series.
Sorry, I also made an early-afternoon-on-substantial-coffee attempt at humour.
I was thinking (or not, apparently) along the lines of “Wot Gorilla?” …
It is beautiful. You see what looks like a bunch of loose rock between those peaks and you walk for sometime until you get there and then its much higher than it looked from a distance…
This shot sort of gives some perspective…
This is looking back to the valley from the climb up to that
Quite beautiful indeed…
A recommendation if you have never been is Waterton Lakes National park South of Calgary…Its on the border with Montana and pairs with Glacier National park. You can actually hike across the border which is cut out through the trees…way less busy than Banff and Lake Louise and equally stunning…
Beautiful pictures!
I have not been in this part of AB. Still on the todo list. Hopefully some day.
Some Red and Purple hot chilli peppers from this afternoon. I should have kept that back button focus more before hitting the shutter button though…
Had a very late snow shower today!
Didn’t find any great photos, but took a few anyway. My battery was half full - which is lots in a D750.
Bonnie lassie, will ye go,
Will ye go, will ye go,
Bonnie lassie, will ye go
To the birks of Aberfeldy?
This is a nice walk, especially at this time of year, when the colours of the trees are changing.
You meet the author of the song at the start of the walk
After that it is a walk through the woods with the Moness Burn below you, fed by a number of waterfalls.
Hallowe’en came early.
I’m guessing there’s either an amazing sunrise beyond that door, or the Martians have landed on your front porch.
I’d have preferred martians 'cos if you’ve seen one sunrise you’ve seen them all…
There are a lot of landscape photographers who would differ greatly with you on that…
(me among them)
Thats what I so like about this photo - didn’t even have to leave the house at silly o’clock
