Grafton Bridge in the rain

Grafton, NSW Australia happened to be at the end of the train journey mentioned elsewhere, and I found myself crossing the Clarence River on this rather impressive bridge.
It was originally partly opening to allow shipping through - although no longer functional in that regard, I assume the little cabin in this shot would have been for the operator.

Phone shot, not entirely happy with it, but thought it could have scope for different interpretations - better than mine!
Focus is not where I expected. Not paying attention as (excuse!) I was in a hurry… and getting wet! :laughing:

Using darktable master, an excuse to play with the color equalizer.

I think your own version is hardly to top. Anyway, here is my somewhat experimental edit. Brilliant shot by the way.

Yes, it is a great shot!
I thought real hard on applying some ToneEQ to make it look a little more colorful and detailed, but eventually went with the dramatic look.
@Popanz - I like yours better!

Ooh, nice. It’s a good case for partial colour.

@Jean-Marc_Digne Thanks! You’ve done a good job bringing out the details in the bridge.

Interesting… and thanks! :slight_smile:

That’s good - I like the way you’ve emphasised the rusty reddish tones in the bridge.

Gee, that’s interesting! Very well done I think. Just flipping would have looked, well, flipped, but the other local adjustments give a result that makes you stop and think.
And feel a little wet…

Yeah it’s a bit like “submarine view” :wink:

Grungy, cold & wet, slightly cross-processed look. Visually interesting image… Looks like it could be from a prison film – Except for that huge gap under the chain link!

Getting more and more comfortable with grey in my black and whites.
