I tried to boost the pseudo-bokeh thingy in the background but may have been doing it wrong. Still, overall, it’s one of my favorite pics yet.
Beware of lens distorsion: my lens seems to do weird stuff (I think it’s a downside of it that often pops up in reviews), and the automatic suggestion of RawTherapee for it is rarely optimal. I generally adjust it empirically, according to the look I want. It felt like a chore initially but now I see it as more freedom haha.
My try. Crop as much as is possible, don’t let the green overwhelm the doll. Should have made it brighter. It looked fine in DT, but here it is a bit dark
Hehe, yeah, I was kinda hoping to get a similar mood as in the official pictures, but those manufacturers all have crazy props and backgrounds and equipment (and probably go wild with Photoshop, too, while I stay away from digital painting, haha).
I’m particularly happy, if anything, with how the bulky base got relatively hidden and melded in the natural elements.
What’s AGX? My web search turned up all kinds of random things, and the associated tag here on Pixls only matches one topic about… a phone app?
It looks pretty nice. There’s a weird grainy pattern in the background, though, but maybe that’s intended?
By the way, I also have a closer-range picture from that session, but I like the wiggling plants around, more visible on the one I submitted for that topic.
Oh, sorry! This is the darktable version with agx found here: Blender AgX in darktable (proof of concept)
updated my post with the link. It’s important to mention that it was made with the agx branch because the xml-file won’t open correctly in the normal darktable builds.
