Welcome to planet darktable: Tutorials, blogs and news from around the web

Planet darktable is now live! Inspired by Planet Emacslife, it aggregates the latest tutorials, blogs and news related to darktable. All in one convenient place. And there’s even an RSS feed (remember those?) you can subscribe to.

You can change the theme and switch between light and dark mode, with the dots in the upper left and right corners.

I think I managed to scrape everything darktable related together, but if not, do let me know. I also make no promises regarding the quality of any of these

Don’t expect too much from any of these :upside_down_face:

Excellent start, Nis!

Well, there is Developing Photos With Darktable - by Scott Gilbertson, starting with “This guide is kept up-to-date with Darktable releases. It is currently written for Darktable 5.0, released December 2024.” …

Where are www.darktable.org and docs.darktable.org? They can not be resolved and there are no A records for these websites. Did someone accidentally delete those records (when adding planet.darktable.org)? :cold_sweat:

See darktable.org is not reachable ?!

Serious? Is this a joke?

Added Nishchal Bhandari (@nish).

Did find it actually, but it’s the only darktable related post there and it doesn’t get bumped in the feed when updated, so didn’t seem very pertinent.

Yes. But you have the other thread that kmilos linked to talk about that.

Excellent job. Like the lay out as well.

Currently it’s just the default Infoscope design. Waiting for the developer to implement some templating changes before doing anything custom.

I, along with many others, volunteer my time to try and keep things going. I am not a professional, I just figure things out as I go along. Also I like to makes light of the things I’m doing.

So, sort of a joke, but also notice that I might fuck it up, which I did.

How does it work? Is there some kind of backend that automatically looks for new content through RSS and other means?

Yes, Infoscope. It’s linked at the bottom of the page.

No way I would be updating something like this manually

Ok, no problem and I’m very thankfull to all the people who are doing their thing here for free in their own time.
Maybe next time put a post on this forum so people know maintenance is done on the backend which might cause ‘problems’.

And for the original post about planet.darktable.org. Super nice. Nice to see some new names that I didn’t know before.

A nice weekend to you all!! :hugs:

You should follow on mastodon. Also I posted in the matrix room. I’m not trying to spend my time posting to every possible channel.

Added Jörg Lang.

I still like the layout perhaps change the colours. Also it would be nice to see a list of the authors. I had to go back to your pixls post to find a particular contributor.
I like the idea that it’s automatic. I curate items for a forum and mostly use Google alerts. Automatic updates would be nice so I will look into how you set this up.

Yeah. I tried to look at the old discussion place on OFTC, yesterday. It seems to no longer exist. (It was probably announced, and I either missed it or forgot about it.)

Added Dylan // Live Life Creative and Riley Brandt.

I’ve been doing DT tutorials (mixed in with other stuff) here. You can use them or not.
