When updating from the stable 4.6 series, please bear in
mind that your edits will be preserved during this process, but the new
library and configuration will no longer be usable with 4.6.
Many thanks for the work to the devs - nice new features.
Even though I’d like to see how that new modules (esp. Color Equalizer) work I’m still not quite sure about upgrading (for the first time since V1.4 when I started to use darktable) because of the removal of those AI options in Color Calibration - I could not find a workaround for this that works equally fast for me.
Thanks for 4.8 and the Appimage added in the last hour or so.
I see the As Shot To Reference change has been implemented, changing the Camera Reference default when you open a new raw. This is quite a significant change and yet I can’t see it mentioned in the release details. Curious.
Just switched on Archlinux from AUR darktable 4.7-git back to stable 4.8.
Thanks to the darktable development community for the excellent work! darktable is a nice example that a FOSS program can outclass its proprietary alternatives.
You can still sample the color in the new module… then slide the nodes to line up and adjust but its not the same UI for selecting as the CLUT but it might be better behaved when applying the adjustment …time will tell. I do like the CLUT module and use it from time to time but you have to be careful not to push or artifacts arise…
